Article Publishing Charge (APC)
In open access journal publishing, authors are normally required to pay an Article Publishing Charge (APC) to the publisher (including the world's large publishers) to cover the costs incurred in the process of publishing.
IJGE offers immediate free open accesses to its publications to the public and has managed to waive 100% APC over the first two years, primarily because of the generous contributions of the editorial volunteers and sponsors. However, due to the lack of adequate financial support, the journal is facing a huge challenge. In order to make this open access journal sustainable and to continue benefiting the research community, a fee of US$490, a huge reduction from the regular charge, is introduced at present for each paper accepted for publishing in IJGE. This fee is up to 85% less than that charged by many larger publishers.
    IJGE offers APC discounts or
waiver for authors from low in-come countries as defined by the world Bank. Authors requesting APC waiver or discount can download the APC Request Form and submit the completed form together with their manuscripts.
